I had been painting for several years but always had the feeling that something was missing from my work.
|
I want to start off with a review of mine from several years ago. I first met Chris at the Boca museum art school. I showed him some of my artwork and he asked what I was doing there. I said I am here to learn. And have been learning from Chris ever since. He is a fabulous artist and he and his wife, Belinda (also his right hand) are all about the students.
|
Chris is a great instructor, he can read who you are throughout your canvas. He always has a suggestion to help elevate your art to a higher level and is also willing to listen to your ideas also.
Through Chris, I learned that it was a piece of “ME”.
That a photo or even a Plein-air scene is only a tool that can be changed to make it your own. Everyone at the studio is not just an art student, but a part of Chris and Belinda’s family.
Whether you want to just be a painter, or become an artist, for yourself or to eventually sell your work, head to the Burlini Studio. Great instruction, great people, a friendly atmosphere, and, you’ll find yourself looking forward to your painting day.

My mother is a great artist, and I thought that would be my path. As it turned out for me, I went in a totally different direction with my career. I thought I was too “mainstream” to be in the art world so I put my brushes down and never picked one up for 30 years!!
I started to do makeup as a side job for weddings. I was in the corporate sales world and I knew how to sell myself. I thought if I get good enough at makeup, I could possibly do what I always wanted as my full time career. As time went on, I really wanted to work on my craft and to do that properly I decided to start to paint again.
First, I enrolled in the wrong school and I had no confidence in my ability. Then I found Burlini Studio of the arts. That was a game changer.
Chris helped me to find my confidence( I no longer say I can't do something). I started to BLOSSOM here! This studio is my sanctuary.

I actually sold two of my paintings this past summer!! I never would have dreamed this was ever possible! Just from painting for the past ten years with Chris, I have become a much better artist. My career as a makeup artist has taken off as well. I work on Film and Television and still do weddings. I understand now just how important it was for me to commit to learning how to really paint and develop my skill set personally and professionally.
Several years ago, on a recommendation from a friend and golfing partner, I visited the Burlini Studio of the Arts and significantly changed my life for the better.
Having never painted before I was skeptical, but Chris and Belinda were very welcoming and encouraging. I immediately saw a professional, warm, caring, and challenging atmosphere in the studio. I knew this is where I wanted to test my artistic ability.
Not only did I get an opportunity to challenge myself, my perception of the world around me changed forever. Everything I looked at had a new perspective. Colors, shapes, a beautiful flower, the sun shining off of a lake, the formation of the clouds all have become a part of my every day existence.
Chris Burlini is not only a world class artist, he is also a master at squeezing out your full potential.
He has a great instinct for each student’s personality and ability level and adjusts his teaching techniques accordingly. His patience level is off the charts! |
I look forward to class every week, am grateful for meeting so many wonderful people and artists, and most of all, for the friendship I have developed with Chris and Belinda.

I am a retired dentist. I started painting while I was recovering from back surgery in Feb. 2013. My thought initially was to paint with broad, big stokes and not small detailed work that was so necessary in my profession.
Chris is the fourth teacher I have worked with. The other three were from California and Connecticut.

It's a delight to be in Chris's studio. He is always in a cheerful mood and very welcoming and helpful. He encourages every student, whether they are an accomplished artist or a true beginner.
He has taught me that the differences between a painting and a good piece of artwork is in the detail. He really know how to bring out the best in each student and truly conducts a master class for each student at their own level.
His wife Belinda works beside him and keeps everything working smoothly. I attend class once a week for a three hour session and look forward to meeting new people and welcome them to the studio. Say hello!

This year has been a very difficult one for me and many people. Unfortunately, I lost my husband after 57 & 1/2 years of a beautiful marriage. He passed away in August very suddenly from a torn aorta. It was the worst thing for me, my family and our friends.
I was reluctant to come back to Florida. When I did, I decided to return to the Burlini Studio. Both Chris and Belinda have been so supportive making my choice easier.
Painting has been a large part of my life. Chris is the best teacher I've ever had, and I've had many. His help and encouragement to explore all types of art have been an inspiration. My new style is a form of graffiti art. It has given me an outlet that helps me cope with loss.

I was an Artist Guild member for many years. This gave me an opportunity to show my art in their gallery. However, the gallery closed. Luckily Chris and Belinda are expanding their studio to include a place for their students to display their art. I am honored to be amongst those chosen. The talent in his classes are incredible. Thank you Chris and Belinda for helping me heal.
This past year with Chris's encouragement I tackled a family portrait of my son, daughter in-law and 4 grandchildren. It was from a photograph they sent me. I have not seen them for over a year since the pandemic started. I did not tell them I was going to paint them and it would be a surprise gift to them when they came down to visit at Easter. It was the first time I painted a portrait and I did not know if I could do it.
I started the painting at the end of November, I put my heart and soul into the painting and after each session I could see I was getting the feel and look that I interpreted. When I finished the painting, I really felt I captured their personalities. What I also felt was how excited I was to give them the painting and see their reactions. I had all I could not to tell them of the surprise painting.
|
When they arrived, I had them all sit together and I brought it out but just showing the back of it. I had them guess what it was and of course they said a painting. But I said, guess what the subject was. Nobody guessed it was of them and I turned it around to watch their faces and how surprised and happy they were. It was a very emotional moment and one that made all the hard work worthwhile.
My husband retired a few years ago, and we decided to move to the Polo Club in Boca Raton, FL. When I first came to FL, I had no idea what I was going to do, so a friend suggested I try painting.
I showed up with a canvas and paints at the Polo club art class with Chris Burlini, and I immediately knew this is for me. After finding out Chris has a studio, I started coming to the studio as well as painting at the club. The studio is very welcoming, full of wonderful people, and have become my second family.

Being with Chris has helped me become an “Artist”. He is kind, patient, talented and knowledgeable.
He also gives me encouragement, joy and confidence. I look forward every time I get the privilege of going to the studio to spend the day painting.
Thank you Chris and Belinda for encouraging me to find my PASSION!
What would I do without my ART classes!!!

Though the process of learning to paint, Chris has taught me how to see the world through a painters' eyes.
He has taught me how to be patient with myself and trust the process. I started on this journey last year and I'm truly enjoying my new hobby. This painting was a photo that my son took of a favorite hike in Vermont.
I never thought I could do it justice , but Chris did. After many months of hard work, I am very proud to give this as a gift to my son.

Chris is a great instructor, he can read who you are throughout your canvas, and he always has something enriching to say to improve your piece of art for the better. It is the first time in my life that I experimented with oils and I find it fascinating!
When you come into the Studio you will always find a space ready for your own use. Everybody is so nice and friendly! I just love coming to this place, I'm always looking forward to it! - ANA SOFIA LOZANO -

Janina Leigue
Ever since Janina Leigue picked up her first pencil she remembers the feeling of joy of what might become of her sketches on the piece of paper in front of her. When she picked up her first paint brush she discovered a world that would transform her life. Aided by art books and intuition, she found herself spending hours painting oil still life that family and friends began praising and asking for as gifts. “I found passion within myself through the colors I began seeing once I started painting.” Having no formal training she knew she needed to find a guide to learn proper technique and style. “With Chris Burlini, I have discovered how wonderful my paintings can be. His mentorship and his guidance have helped me develop my talent and the confidence within myself that makes me feel as if there are no limits to where my art can take me.” |
“In the Burlini Studio, you can see how art gives you the possibility of creating something marvelous, a gift to people, the immortalization of things or moments, or simply delighting others. You never stop learning new things”.

Born in Bolivia and a business woman with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in finance, she recalls how all her notebooks, folders and text books inevitably ended up with her drawings scrawled amongst the pages. She lives in Florida with her husband and two children. Despite her busy schedule, she always finds time in her day to paint. Her goal is to become a professional artist whose work transmits positive energy and inspiration to others.
"I have a passion to create something- to bring stories to life," she says. "Art can be anything. It can have meaning or not, depending on the person. Art offers the freedom of expression and exaggeration of reality."

Fueled by the common interest of art amongst her friends, Jaime began digitally drawing at the age of 10. From the IPad to sketchbooks, her drawing became insatiable. "All I want to do at the end of a day is draw," she remarks. " I love having the ability to draw or create something that will be enjoyed by myself or someone else later. I love looking at my beginning drawings and see how I've evolved". Primarily self-taught through YouTube videos, cartoons, video games and books, her favorite style of art is referred to as "Western-style Anime". Painting had yet been an untouched medium for Jaime until recently.
As a young artist, she was so grateful to find Chris Burlini and his Boca Raton painting studio. "Mr. Chris ha given me more technique in my art, not just in my paining. He has begun teaching me how to become a true and realistic artist; to know that it is more than paint and canvas. It's a great feeling to know that someone sees my potential and can help me to bring it out. I consider him a mentor'. Since the age of 6, Jaime has been home-schooled, so she is no stranger to self-initiation and following a passion. Ultimately, this is a passion that has given her a goal of becoming a professional artist one day. A goal, she hopes, can be achieved through hard work under Chris Burlini.

Born in Saint Louis, Missouri, this now-native Floridian states that art inspires her because "It is so vast. There are no real limits to rules to art. You can constantly learn". and she makes the most if it. Emma spends about 20 hours a week working on her art, whether it is in the studio or at home. When she's not working on her art, Jaime enjoys studying history philosophy, Latin and mathematics. she also loves performing stand-up comedy and volunteering with local theater group. When it's time for university, she hopes to attend Rhode Island School of Design or Savannah College or Art & Design; but in the meantime, she reminds her mom that she still loves "just being a kid'.
GO AHEAD ----- Ask me my favorite day of the week! It's always the day that I go to art class! But, that was not always the case before changing from an art school to Chris's studio. I was unhappy, confused about starting and developing a painting, my confidence was on zero, and I was ready to quit. Thank goodness for my friend who convinced me try Burlini's Studio of the Arts. Under Chris's guidance, his understanding of my mind set, and his teaching me to embrace my natural style of painting, I have certainly made enormous strides.
Add to that equation, Belinda's support and loving care - how could one fail! GO AHEAD ----- Ask me how far I will go under Chris's tutelage? Answer................THE SKY'S THE LIMIT! Marian Matez |

From my experience with Chris over the last several years, I have gone from a novice painter to someone who can create, exhibit, and sale my artwork. Chris has taught me techniques, to think creatively and to finish a painting to perfection. His patience is beyond the norm, his enthusiasm is unparalleled, and his kind support makes every student feel special. All of this is done in a relaxed environment with inspirational music, delicious coffee and goodies too good to pass up.
Thank you Chris for some of my best days of my week and know that I look eagerly forward to each and every painting day.

Coming to the Burlini Studio of the Arts is to find joy in artistic expression of all dimensions of painting. From the very large (measured by the foot) to the very small (measured by the inch) the expertise and vision of Chris Burlini interacts with the artist to create an expression of art that is exceptional. Chris is one of only a few artists that is able to demonstrate, explain, clarify and empower each individual to exceed their current capacity of painting. No matter what the level of experience or the age of each student, Chris is able to aid and instruct them to achieve their goals. In fact, because of his instruction higher goals are often needed. His partner, Belinda, provides an atmosphere of encouragement and has the ability to interpret the needs of the students. The studio is airy, light and conducive to enjoyment of the painting experience. If you want to explore your potential or hone your skills, this is the place to be.
