ART IS a POWERFUL way to LEARN.
Sun-Sentinel Article
"it creates a great dynamic in the studio to see how the paintings to out and affect people...It's just wonderful to see how active everyone got and involved on their own time," said studio owner and artist Chris Burlini.
More than 60 art students helped paint the two jungle-themed murals, which matched the center's theme, Burlini said. He also created coloring books with the same theme for children who use the center.
"These murals are something that we have always wanted to have for our waiting room, but we simply did not have the funding. This gift means so much to the center and to the children and families who get to see it everyday," said center's coordinator of community relations. The two murals are displayed in the waiting room of the center's Early Steps clinic, which provides developmental evaluations to children up to age 3. Clayton said the center "strives to do what they can to reduce the stress on the children when they visit the center," and "the murals are perfect because they help create this environment."

Burlini knows firsthand how artwork can brighten a sick child's outlook. His newphew had leukemia, and when he was in the hospital, he made him posters with superheros, superimposing the child's face onto the superhero. "It really helped him, and now he's doing well," Burlini said. "I wan to continue that experience for kids."
Donating to charitable organizations is something Burlini wants the studio to do several times a year. Last year, the studio donated a piece to the Boca Ballet to help them raise money for scholarships.
"We will pick different organizations. A lot of our students volunteer, so we'll keep our ears open and give a donation," he said.

CEILING TILE CHARITY EVENT
The students of Burlini Studio of the Arts donated their time and efforts to collectively create colorful ceiling tiles to be placed throughout Children's Diagnostic Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale. Each large-scale hand painted ceiling tile is sure to put a smile on a child's face, as they undergo their medical treatment.
