​There is a wide variety of materials and colors for expressing yourself, what attracts you may set you apart.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS & TOOLS LIST
1. Pencils or Vine Charcoal sticks and kneaded erasers
 
2. Palettes- choose one that works for you:
    Rectangular palettes (some paint boxes would include one), or disposable paper palettes
 
3. Canvas--Size is open, Linen or cotton.
    Pre stretched and primed.
     
4. Brushes, a variety of sizes
    A. Bristle brushes---Rounded, Flat and Filbert (cat’s tongue)
    B. Synthetic brushes are for softening & blending
    C. Palette knife
 
5. Mediums & Thinners (For OIL painting only)
    Odorless Turpentine, Turpenoid or paint thinner.
    Dipper, metal or glass container    
 
6. Paper Towels or Rags
 
7. Beginners’ colors: Titanium White, Ivory Black, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber Yellow Ochre,              Naples Yellow, Cyan, Phthalo Blue, Ultra Marine, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Cadmium        Yellow, and Sap Green.
